Dumb question, so don’t roast me. Are touchless car washes okay?
I use them, and make sure to keep proper distance from spray gun to vehicle. They will cause paint to flake if there is peeling issues already. Just take care when using them. At least from my usage, others may have different experiences.

I wouldn’t use one as your only means of washing. Although they won’t swirl or scratch the paint since there are no brushes, they use harsh chemicals and pressure to do the cleaning which isn’t really good either.

Ceramic Coating, Foam Gun, dry with MicroFiber towels, use one for the majority of the water, then wring out often. Dry in the shade as in early morning.

Rinse top down and loosen the dust and dirt first. Then the foam cannon, then rinse………Keep wet wile drying.

I also use a MeGuiars Ceramic Coating touch up witheach wash. There are two types. one apply while vehicle is still wet and one vehicle dry. Read directions, I believe the Blue bottle is the wet and Green is dry. Apply wet and dry as normal. Makes quick work of drying and keeps ceramic coating fresh.

CG HydraView For the glass. Regular Glass cleaner for the dirt, Hydra View as a Ceramic Coating for the glass and a Waffle Weave towel with a very light spritz of the HV coating to remove the streaks.

Enlighten us with what to look for. What soap do you use and why?

I alternate between Carpro Reset and Jay Leno Ceramic Wash Shampoo. Reset is a bit stronger so I use that maybe once a month and then reapply my spray coating of choice (currently Griots Ceramic 3-in-1). In-between I will use the Jay Leno shampoo which does a nice job of cleaning a adding some shine back.

For drying I prefer The Rag Company Liquid8r in 25x36 for my Yukon. I use a leaf blower first to get most of the water off then use the Liquid8r to catch the rest. Works great.
