Clips on roof rails

I have an SSV with no roof rails, i bought some because i would like to put a roof top tent on it, but have questions about the install. Specifically the front and back have clips that hold down the plastic trim (pictured below). My question is what is on the truck that snaps into these clips? Where can i get them? Do they screw into the metal roof or glue onto the vehicle?

I'm hoping someone who has done a rail delete can help me.

Another idea that just now occurs to me, can i just remove the plastic trim and install only the metal rail. It wouldn't look as sleek, but is there any reason i couldn't do that?

I have not. I looked on a couple other pages and couldn't find anything, they only have the rail parts and nuts. I will check that out. Thank you.

That is what those clips attach to? Are those the same catches that hold down roof rail blanking plates?

Not sure about the blanking plates, but yes, this is what the green clips were attached to.
