had a check engine light the other day and went to the auto parts store to get the codes scanned.

came back with p0138, which is the o2 sensor, and p1416 which i have no idea what that is. the SES light went away last night.

any idea what that code is??

the oxy sensor bank 2 was less then 222mv for more then 1 second when the smog air pump was running in closed loop mode.

Generally triggered by a broken check valve or damaged air pump hoses. or loose or damaged wiring. seeing as how it disappeared quickly just make sure your o2 sensor are snug and clean.

so your saying the p1416 code was because of the o2 sensor??

not really. it uses the o2 on right side rear to verify a functional test outcome. the 138 code tho indicates a rich condition test results for 110 out of 130 second test. I can drive you nuts with all the details but just check you air pump hoses and check valves for damage and leaks. currently the diagnosis logic dictates this step and we go from there. after that we will need to determine if you have a short or open wire in that o2 subsystem.

I will check it when I get home. I do hear the smog pump running every now and then. Never throws a code or a ses light though
