This is awesome reading the results from this swap. This is definitely going on my "to do" list for the Tahoe.

I am very curious to know how much of the improvement is coming from the spring compared to the adjustable shock itself. I am contemplating going with just a coilover shock first and seeing how much it improves. Then after a few thousand miles add the coil spring and see if there is a noticeable difference. Obviously there are more benefits to the coil springs just in weight difference alone. Those keys and t-bars are heavy. Anyway, just kinda thinking out loud here.

Theres about a 45lb difference between the tbar setup and the coilovers. I would say most of the difference comes from the spring not the shock.

got my conversion done today. its funny how easy removing the whole suspension is the second time you do it. as for right now, i cant really comment on how nice the ride is, bc it still needs an alignment and the rear shocks arent in yet, so it kinda feels nicer over the bad roads, but then the rear still sucks... those should be in tomorrow so HOPEFULLY i can get the shocks in after work and get it aligned tuesday

How man the improvement is honestly hard to put in words. I wish like they talked about long time ago having a TYF neighborhood, i would take everyone for a ride. Then this would be over. lol. But its much better than the shocks and tbars. I thought the same way as you, as i needed shocks b/c the bilsteins were all wrong for my tahoe. So i figured why not replace with better. I researched alot and asked everyone questions. Even guys on forums that havent been on in years, still got respones. Once i finally get a day, im going to make all my reivews in the 2nd post and hopefully help others out with questions.

They were quite heavy when we took it all out. The bars themselves were not real heavy, but going from all that to just a coil over that i can hold in one had to the bars, big difference.

I need an alignment still as well, but just go drive around slowly. lol. You will notice the difference, trust me. I did instantly. Im interested in hearing your thoughts as well.

If any one has any questions or wants to know something, please put it down and soon as i get a day i will try to answer all questions and comments in the 2nd post. Hopefully soon.

I havent really talked about full build over here, but this is the current one:

And an old one:

Personally the tvs blower is a lot more street friendly. I would really go with one of those if I were one of you guys. Turbos are fun, but have a whole lot more problems to solve and require constant maintanence than the blower that you just slap on and forget about.
Top looks sick. How much boost you running, I know supercharger is little to maintain and run but I've always wanted to turbo something so it's going to happen eventually that is! Ha.

Nice man glad you got it done! I wouldnt be able to hold off and wait for align id be testing it out! Get that thing fine tuned and your input in! Jealous man hope it makes you like the ride again! One other thing you didn't like the ride with djm LCA?

Ha ha ha ... The best of friends. ha ha . :happy160:
ahh, no i see why you are on hold for the coil overs. LOL. I'll trade ya. lol. Very nice man.

Thread jack cant happen when its my thread and do not mind. lol.
With that said--- Nope no camber kit, alignment guy before said i did not need one. Will find out for sure hopefully next week when i go for alignment now. I'll try to get a front pic tomorrow.
Yes we can be all at different times, w/ billy already leading the way. I have some reading up to do on turbos and what needs to come with them.
Holding out on the turbo for now, would rather do the coilover conversion 1st.
It will be turbo one day! Haha. Interested to see results when you get it aligned!
Billy.

Boost is between 20 and 30psi depending on how my wastegate feels at the moment. Roughly 1200rwhp at that level, little turbo is maxed out.

Hey Atomic,
I know you're running a turbo now, but what supercharger is that exactly in the second pic? If you've still got it, is it for sale? I'm really wanting to supercharge my Tahoe some day but I'm concerned with how much it will destroy the gas mileage. It's one thing to ruin gas mileage by having a lead foot, but what was the mileage difference between stock/NA and driving conservatively with that supercharger?

No its been gone for several years, it was a tvs1900.

Keep your foot out of it and mileage will be the same. I actually got better mileage with a 408 and that blower and I did with a stock 5.3. This was in a lifted ext cab on 35s though.
