so im not sure if anyone has this same problem, but when its cold out early morning,... it take supper long to crank and start, the starter turns over fast so i dont think its a starter or bat problem, then when the trucks warm, it starts right up.

is this normal?
i can remote start it about 10-15 ft away from the truck then and when i get to it walking it finally starts, seams really long...

my 95 does the same exact thing , cranks fast and stronger but takes a few seconds to start, i have just started noticing this with mine. i think it might be something with the fuel pressure but not 100% sure. i will ask around the shop 2morrow and will get back to you

Clean your throttle body out. You probably have a lot of carbon and paraffin build up that is restricting flow on cold start because the paraffins are hard, once its warmed up, it softens and the fuel is able to punch through it.

I have a new fuel pump, and mine has started doing this too, now that the temp is in the 40's. I think it is just cold. I'm swapping my oil out tonight/tomorrow-ish, and I'm dropping it from 10-30 to 5-30, because the entire time it is cranking, it is doing so with no oil in the engine. I'm not fond of that prospect...

my throttle body looks brand new, the motor has pretty much no carbon build up, i use fuel treatment frequently never run shit gas, and i just sea foamed it and it didnt even smoke, so idk i guess its just the cold weather...

The advice I got initially from a local gm tech was to check the fuel pressure regulator and perhaps the fuel filter. if you pump the gas prior to starting or while starting does it cut down on the start time? I would also clean out the tb and the iac motor on the tb.

If the fuel filter is clogging up, you would have drivability issues as well as start-up issues. If it is a 95 model or prior with a throttle body and no injector system, then pumping the gas a little while starting may help, but obviously wont solve the problem.

Fuel pressure regulator could be the case as well, but again, you would be having drivability issues ( misfiring, stalling out, sluggish response ).

Another good thing to check is you cap and rotor, they may have some build-up on them. Possibly your timing is off just a little?
