:emotions122:Just out of curiosity... I am currently in afghanistan and my g/f is borrowing my yukon back home ( with LOTS of hesitation and doubt) while hers in the shop. Well we got hit by this freak storm taht is covering the nation and had wind chills down to -35 degrees and she left the dam thing outside which im furious about ... but she told me on skype that it would not start this morning is this just due to the extreme temps and could this cause any harm if she tried to start it when it sat outside all night in those kinds of conditions. Im ultra paranoid about my vehicles and i know its running either castrol syntec or castrol edge 5w-30 which should have a pour temp of -35 degrees... and it has a brand new duralast gold battery with 900 CCA (6 months old) but even so at temps that low can anyone give me an idea of why it wont start and if it could do any damage if she did try to start it. Even my mothers ford edge had trouble and it was in a garage!!! im just being paranoid but i really dont like the situation at all. :emotions122:

Sounds like the best option is to tell her that the left handed smoke deflector probably went bad, and she will have to wait until it gets around 50 degrees to be able to drive it... by that time she will have her car back :)

yeah i wish i could od that... even if i asked her to stop driving it im in afghan. so theer is no way i could tell. Im really hoping it was just the cold weather but im also really paranoid that her trying to start it in those temps could cause damage... no matter how much i try to take care of thigns they have a tendency to break around me even tho i spend alot of $ on maintainence so it has made me super paranoid over the least few years... and this is bugging the crap out of me

Like you said, the weight/pour of the oil would be the most important thing to worry about in this situation. Im sorry I really dont have a lot of insight :/ We have had above 0 F weather here all year...
