Cold Start Issues

I Have An Automatic Start On My Truck So By The Time I Get In It's For The Most Part Ready To Roll. I've Noticed Lately That From A Cold Start That I Hear A Noise That Would Sound Similar To You Tapping Metal Against Metal Real Faintly. After The Truck Has Been Driven For A Couple Blocks It Goes Away. I Thought That I Just Needed A Tune Up Bc I Haven't Gotten One In A While So I Did A Full Tune Up And Noticed It Was Still Doing It. I've Been Taking It For Oil Changes Regularly So It's Nothing Oil Related I Don't Think So.

Also When I Drive And Slow Down The Truck Will Cut Off And I Have To Put It In Neutral And Start It. Like I Said This ONLY Happens When I First Start It After It's Been Sitting For A Few Hours Or Overnight. I Figured I'd Ask The Experts On Here Before Sending It To The Shop Blindly. ANY Info Would Be Greatly Appreciated, Thank You

It could be a few things but without hearing it first-hand it's really hard to tell. The most common issues that produce that noise during cold start-ups are:

1) gummed up lifter. The sound would be coming from underneath one of the valve covers. This is due to gum or sludge in the lifter. Oil is thicker when it's cold so it has a harder time making it;s way into and out of the lifter (a hydraulic component). As the engine warms up, the oil thins in vicosity and the oil flows more easily.

2) exhaust leak. These can be anywhere along the exhaust starting at the exhaust manifold flange an back. As the truck warms up, the manifolds expand causing the leak (if it's small enough) to go away due to the expanding metals of the head and manifold as they get hot.

Easiest thing to do is first check for broken exhaust manifold bolts.

I Was Thinking It Could Possibly Be The Lifters Too. I Was Gonna Get This Stuff Called "Lifter Quiet" And Give It A Try. It Couldn't Hurt. I'll Also Check The Manifold

i went through all my lifters and found the one that was sticking i did the carb cleaner method and that fixed it no more ticking but was still kinda noisy on a cold start so when i changed my oil i used full synthetic royal and some of that lucas stuff and wow im always hesitant about putting in additives but man even after its been sitting for awhile and i start it up cold
no more cold start knock for that first couple of seconds and my oil pressure seems more normal range its not so low while its warming up

if yer wondering about the carb cleaner method i took all the rocker arms off and pushrods out and sprayed carb cleaner down into all the lifters and it did the trick
and if you do have a stuck lifter and that doesnt free it gotta replace lifters

What does your oil pressure look like at start up? I had this same issue on my 07 6.2, ended up being a o-ring going from the pickup tube to the oil pump, allowing it to suck air into motor and not keeping primed.

Ok Ok, I've Been Using Mobil1 And Using The Recommended Weight.

Oil Pressure And Everything Else Is Fine

I would run sea foam for 100 km and change the oil. It works. The instructions are different. They want you to warm the engine and the dump in the product and only idol for 15 min. I found leaving it in for a day or so. Depending on driving habits the change oil. I put it in on a Friday and drive to work and shopping Saturday then change oil Saturday afternoon when it's still hot or Sunday. After warming up the truck. Then synthetic oil of choice. Try it you will be surprised on the difference.
It also works on small engines.
