Do tell... Do tell....

I'm looking for more ideas..... are these easy to swap out? Our setups are almost the same. If you were going to do this, what would you be buying?

That is the problem, I dont know which ones yet. I really want roller rocker and roller tip.

If you go 1.6, you will get more valve lift , no if and or butts.....so you will be sucking more air.

Those rockers will work great for a street application. We have used them up to 6k RPM. We back to back checked the difference between roller/ non roller rockers on a dyno and it was about 6-8 Hp. If you want to increase the compression you can go with the 1.6's on the intake and the 1.5's on the exhaust. The most efficient way to increase power is changing the cam, but that usually effects mileage. Those rockers will work well for your application.

1.6s on Vortecs you need to slot the guides, which is easy but on the engine all those iron shavings are going somewhere ...

You are correct on not fitting the stock vortec head. I think he is taking the heads off? It really is more worth while to just change the cam if you are looking for more power. 9 out of 10 people cant feel the power difference from 1.5 to 1.6 ratio rockers.

Crower tech support online is telling me that 73603-16 roller rocker roller tip SS self aligning 1.6 do not require pushrod hole elongation and they fit under the oem covers.

They are big money though.

I was talking to the guys in our shop this afternoon about rockers.
Then I come here and read the same thing they told me. lol...

They said that our vortecs are pretty much 1.5 stock and that depending on which kind, I could fit 1.6 with no other mods. (machining heads or new valve covers or springs)

They strongly suggested for to me to buy roller rocker roller tips self aligning.
They liked comp cam. They told me to stay away from racingjunk.com.

They figured it would add 20-30hp with both rollers and the 1.6 together. IDK.

NEWB question. Is it better to keep both intake and exhaust at 1.6 to increase airflow, or increase compression by keeping the exhaust at 1.5 and intake at 1.6 as suggested?

GPracer, is THIS the set your refering to?

You need self aligning in Vortecs unless you had them machined for guide plates ...

You aren't going to increase compression by staying with 1.5 as opposed with going to 1.6 ...
