Mike1944 - Did cleaning and re-tightening your cables fix your problem? Or did you replace the cables? This would be nice to know and I'm sure GM would like to hear the outcome so they could adjust thier repair process for this issue.

Just cleaned then tightened the heck out of them and never had a problem again. It seemed like they were tight before but ....

This was not an unusual problem and was one of the first things us newbs learned on the corvette forum.

That and use Chevron with Techron which I guess helped keep the fuel gauge sender unit freed up. Older Vettes seemed to have a pretty consistent problem with it sticking.
