Completely Dead - Help - SOLVED

Thanks everyone - this issue is resolved.

As I reminder: Cranked over a couple times and then went completely dead. I mean completely - nothing worked. As if my battery was in the truck. Popped the hood, checked the battery (over 12 volts). Disconnected the terminals to check them out and all was clean and looked great. Reconnected the battery, went to check the connections by looking in the driver's side and my security light was flashing. Turned on the ignition and fuel pump primed, dash board lights were on, windows and locks worked, stereo worked and all exterior lights worked. Went to crank her over - she starts to crank (half a second) then all is dead again - like no battery was installed.

Ordered a new battery and installed it last night. Problem fixed. Like I said, never had a battery fail this way.

You had a cell that was almost completely dead. The cells in a car battery are all in series so that means the max amount of current flow is the cell that has the LOWEST amp output. Ohms Law kicks our butt when it comes to power.
Voltage is additive in a series circuit. Amperage is the same in a series circuit. So whichever cell is the weakest is the max since it cant put out as much as the others.

The reason a bad battery that fails because of shorted or weak output cells has lower voltage output when charged but only goes to around 12v or even a little less is because of the weak cell. A good fully charged battery should be 12.6v or so. When there is a weak cell you lose around .6v or even more when a battery is really bad or has multiple weak cells. It has 12v or around there and puts out some current, enough to turn on interior lights, maybe radio, etc but even remotely close enough amperage output required by a starter which is in the area of 600A+.
