Hi I have been a member of this fourm for a couple of months and this will be my first post... I have a 99 2dr Tahoe and discovered that coolant was leaking on the passenger side rear area of the engine compartment after starting the engine... At first I thought the leak was coming from the T where the heater hoses connect... But then I noticed it was coming from the firewall where the heater hoses connect .. There was a nipple next the the two heater hoses with no hose and that was where the coolant was coming from... I checked a relative's 99 Tahoe for comparison.. It had the same thing except it didn't leak coolant... Does anyone know what this is or what the purpose of it is??? since coolant is coming from it do I have somekind of problem or do I need to put a hose on it then clamp it so it wont leak??? Thanks

I had a similar problem, but that T thing you described was the culprit for mine. I just replaced the thing and problem solved.

Thanks for the replies... The source of the leak was the heater control valve.. Went and got one and replaced it today, no more leak....:party33:
