Thats most likely gaskets. They're probably so corroded by now that coolant is seeping through them and leaking in many palaces. Also, don't forget the engine/transmission is angled back slightly for a better driveshaft/pinion angle, so gravity will have its effects and cause the leaking coolant to move along the seam between the heads and the block. As far as I know, the crossover passage in the manifold is really the only source of coolant along the driver's side of the engine anyways. Unless it's a head gasket, thats a whole different issue, and far less likely.
Is there coolant in the oil/vice versa? Thats a pretty good sign of intake gasket failure.
