I noticed I was leaking coolant and traced it to this small valve looking piece that has a rubber hose and steel line going into it. It is oval shaped and sits just in front on top of engine next to where you add oil. Looks like seal is bad but can’t find the part number anywhere. Anyone know what this is?IMG_1300.jpg

There are two more seals on the back as well. If you do not have pipes attached, you will have two plugs attached instead. it would be a little work to get at them, but you could probably pressurize your cooling system then use a mirror or boroscope to look at the back.

Hey Oceanside, u got a 5.3 in ur Yukon? I have a mysterious coolant leak in my 6.2. In 6mo added 1/3 container of coolant to keep it topped off. No drips on ground, had indy shop press ck for 1 hr and no loss of pressure.

Are these types of coolant leaks something that may only occur with the front and or rear heat turned on?

Sorry to resurrect this post from the dead, but using the search feature helped me out a lot to find the name of this piece. Also where are the other 2 located at on the 5.3 engine do I follow the lines to the back of the engine ?

Thanks in advance!

The rear ones might not be connected to coolant lines, and may be just plugs. They would be in the same relative positions on the rear, so they will be hard to see.
