Just a quick clearification on this mod. Looking at the Oregon Transmission Site, I found the Corvette Servo Kit ($16.99). This is the first step in improving the shifting, correct?

Now, I also see people talking about the SUPERIOR BILLET SUPER SERVO 4TH APPLY PISTON. Is this a worthwild item as well since I will have the whole assembly apart anyway?

My main use of my Yukon in towing and I want to improve on the transmission in that respect.

Thanks,
Britain

Take some pictures, step by step ones. I have one, had it for awhile, just not to sure about how to install it. Found the posts about it on other site and all, but not really to sure about them. And pasadena, tx, like near almeda mall? or am i thinking somewhere else.. .

unfortunately, the wife had other plans and i haven't had a chance to install it yet.. nah, its more like pasadena town square mall that i'm closer to. almeda is considered houston.. as soon as i get some time i'll get some pics of the install process..

I did the Vette Servo and the Superior Super 4th Gear tonight. Took a total of 30mins and was super easy. After a test drive, I was convienced that I should have done this a long time ago. Very crisp shifts and no slipping. I think I can hear my tranny saying thank you.

We shall see how it does this weekend with the car hauler hooked up.

Where does the spring go that comes with the Superior Super 4th Gear? Does it replace one that is already there?

Yep, it is a light blue spring that is softer and replaced the spring that is there behind the e-clip.

If I remember, I can bring the old parts outta my tranny for you to observe. It was a super simple mod and I can't see how it would be that bad for an older mileage transmission. It is not that harsh and it gets rid of the slipping.

How much transmission fluid can I expect to come out when I do this mod?

About 8 drops. Seriously, very little came out. I didn't even need the oil pan.

I got everything from OregonPerformanceTransmission.com

They sent me an OEM Vette Servo and the Superior 4th in about 2 days...well, I live about 150miles from Salem where they are located.
