Well, it failed NOX but passed everything else. The EGR valve is designed specifically to reduce NOX emissions, so that was my starting point. I gave it a good cleaning, and if it still fails I'll just replace it as it might be shot and not working, and thats the cheapest option by far ($150 part and another .99 gasket). Based on what other techs have told me, next up will be the cats if that doesn't work. I'm really hoping that I don't have to go that route.

Sorry for the very delayed update, guys.

Well, I got it to pass. I seafoamed it, and ran a bottle of lucas fuel treatment through the gas. Told the new owner to drive it a few days to let the fuel treatment work, then get it tested again. This was on a Saturday. The following Tuesday he went in and had it tested, and it barely, barely passed. But it passed, so my obligation is finished.

The limit is 2.0, and the old ***** squeaked out a 1.94, LOL. If I had fathomed that $15 of additives would have made it pass, then I wouldn't have shelled out the scrilla for a new EGR valve...but what can you do? Thanks to everyone for all the help. :Handshake:

Obviously something is off still, since it came so close to failing again. I'll probably never know what the problem actually is since the thing runs like a top...I can't figure it out. Oh well, I hope that it gives the new owner many more years of trouble free service.

I miss my Yukon, but my Land Cruiser is quite the beast off road, and the payments are cheaper. Much slower than the Yukon (only 230hp), but the 4.7 V8's are torquey mofos even if they aren't that fast. If the new Biz takes off, I'll be buying a NNBS Tahoe as our company hauler. :)

My truck passed flying colors with a single high flow maggy cat and the longtubes, sounds like an o2 or something else was amiss. Have fun driving up 70 with the land cruise son, I'll be in the left lane doing 120 :D

Sheeeeet, she may be slow, but forget the trails man - yer ass would be stuck on the roads we take to GET to the trails! :rotflmao: Different strokes for different folks, although your truck is a blast to drive.

Seriously though, good to hear from you man. Been a while. So where's my ARB combo bar for the new beast, hm? I know you've got one for a 100 series laying around somewhere...:Big Laugh:

Chris - Sorry it took so long, but thanks for following the whole thing!

Andy - Whats up! When are you starting the academy man? Got all of your stuff squared away?
