Could it be the alternator?

2007 Yukon - A month ago we replaced the bad battery. Then the gear indicator lights went out. It has been a slow start for a few weeks, but always started. Today I go out to start it, and it just clicked once when I turned the key. Put it on the charger, and fully charged it. Took it off the charger but I didn't start it right away. Went to start it about a half hour later and it just clicked, but so did everything else in the truck. The cd player wanted to keep loading, the locks sounded like they were clicking but they weren't. What could this be?

Just charged again, went to start, only a couple of dash lights came on. No more extra sounds. Maybe ground wire? Been trying to research on where to start.

Some auto part stores will check battery for free they will do a draw test on it to see if it’s good they might even check alternator output for free. Pep boys or autozone. Check your negative and positive cables see if there is corrosion is everything tight follow to under hood fuse box open it up look inside that fuse box split in two top section comes out it snaps in. If you run it what does your gauge say it has to be above 12.5 volts or better my 2007 usually is around 14 possible short if you have a 12 volt test light put it between the ground on batt and terminal is it lit up might have to pull a fuse for radio memory will light up 12 volt tester. Battery cells are very similar to brain cells once they die things tend to get a little kooky

Definitely try wiggling your ground cable from the battery... that is the most likely culprit.

the question is what did the battery charger say when you went to connect it again? was it dead or was it still holding some charge? you can tell by the lights or meter on your charger. that will tell you if it is a different problem or not.
