I have a 2011. Is this issue fixed or is GM just hoping it occurs after 3/36 ends?

No, the issue is not resolved. In order to receive some type of satisfaction across the board for all owners, a class action lawsuit will probably have to filed. As I said earlier in this thread, some people get their dash replaced free, others have to pay a $200 deductible, and others get no satisfaction whatsoever. And it's not based on the age of the vehicle or the mileage. It seems to be based on just how happy a dealer wants to keep their customers. I think General Motors is simply ignoring the entire situation, IF THEY CAN. If a customer is persistent, well you know the story, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Left dealer, part is under warranty, they are ordering it in and scheduling appointment when it arrives. Should be $0, but we'll see when it comes to the actual service day.

Sounds like you have a reasonable dealer. A dealer who would like to keep their customers happy. I would wonder how long they had to argue with GM on the phone though to get approval under warranty. Most of the time GM says the customer laid something heavy on the dashboard and cracked it themselves. How many people toss a 90 pound bag of mortar or a 35 pound starter or alternator up on their dashbaords? Answer....none.

I think everybody here would like to know what your total cost is at the conclusion of the new dash install. Hopefully, $0.

I will definitely let everyone know. They told me it would be about a week until the part comes in.

On a side note, It seemed as though my dealer was very familiar with this issue, I mentioned I had a cracked dash and first two questions that came out of the service reps' mouth was, driver or passenger side, and how many miles? When I supplied her with the info, she went and took pictures and said, it's under warranty, we'll see you in a week when the part comes in. I really hope that it'll be $0, I'm still getting hospital bills from when the baby was born in January :/

I don't know if I am having issues; I don't see a crack today. That doesn't mean a crack isn't forming, but I cannot see one yet.

There is no luck about it. I would have ran the dealer manager over with the tahoe if they refused to pay for it. You only have 24,000 miles and you can tell if a truck has been abused or not. Good thing you found it early. The last body style camaros and trans ams also have serious issues with cracked dashes. The fix for those cars with unibodys is to install welded subframe braces. Hopefully someone will be smart enough to figure out a fix for the tahoes. I wonder if it is a stress crack or just bad material making it do this? People are just wasting time and money installing a new dash if a fix hasn't been come up with.
