Cranks but wont start

96 Yukon. I towed it to a shop who quoted me $1600 for a new injection spider as the culprit. The truck isn't even worth that, so I thought I could tackle it. I ordered an OEM reman unit for $200 and an intake gasket kit. Did the job, thought it all went smoothly. Went to start it and cranks, but no start. Was able to get it started by spraying some starter fluid in the intake and it ran all day feeling great. Started fine after sitting for a few hours as well. Next morning no start again. I've then replaced distributor cap, wires, plugs, fuel filter, air filter, and the TPS sensor. I was today going to replace the ignition module and see. Any suggestions? I'm running out of things to try.

I would do a fuel pressure test. Spec is 60-66 psi with ignition on but engine not running.

That it started with starting fluid and continued to run, it sounds like a dying fuel pump over an ignition issue.

The replacement injector assembly included the regulator, right?

in the long run, if you replaced the spider injection, it was a good investment anyways. You would have eventually performed that task anyways. =-)
