Paint and attach SS Bumper
Paint Grill insert
Paint Rear Bumper
Polish entire truck

$1700.00 :wtf2:

I can see maybe $1200 tops for all of that. I had the following done not long ago to my truck for $1800 (would have been $2000 but I let him keep my old hood/grille as partial payment)

Paint/install HD hood
Paint/install SS grille
Paint/install SS bumper
Paint/install grille inserts for both bumper and grille
Purchase/install color matched door handles
Paint rear bumper (including purchase/install of new license plate light covers)
Paint/install smooth vent caps
Buff out scratches in front passenger door and areas where emblems and moldings used to be
Polish entire truck
Paint mirrors

Yeah the problem is these guys use an industry software for punching in the job and it spits out a labor time and parts cost for the job.
The hood alone is $500 as he adds an extra hour of labor cuz it's aftermarket.

He said if I took care of painting the grille shell and the rear bumper it would be $1000 all in

I'm gonna see another paint shop tomorrow and get another quote.

I also went to the Chevy dealership bodyshop and he refused to paiunt any chrome parts at all. Said it couldn't be done
He also said if I bought the hood through him it would have been $700 instead of $176 I paid.

Its amazing to me how varied prices are from 1 place to another.

id say price all depends on color and if the parts fit with no finacing needed. when we had to paint a hood we charged 250 to paint a hood black and install it and buff the car. i thought it was fair

Wish I had seen this earlier, I'd give Leslie's Auto Body in Fords a call, see what price they give you. They did some repair work on my Jeep a while back, and came in under 20% under what he quoted me when it was all said and done.

Thanks Mike but I feel I've gotten a good price and the shop is just 5 monutes from my house.

Thanks anyway though
