Cruise quit, cruise light won't come on. So far I've replaced brake light switch, tested all brake lights, and checked all fuses on the truck.

Anybody have any other ideas?

Anybody have any other ideas?

1. Check the Gray wire pin 14 at the Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) Module. It should have battery voltage with the cruise switch on and stay battery voltage as the set switch is pushed.

2. Pin 4 at the TAC module is a Dark Blue wire that will have battery voltage momentarily as the set switch is pushed. Pin 5 is Gray/Black and will be momentary power as the resume/accel is pushed.

3. Pin 6 is a Light Blue wire that is 0 volts until the brakes are applied, then it goes to battery voltage.

4. Inspect all the Brake lights for proper operation AND the correct bulbs being used. If all OK replace the TAC module.

Thanks for the troubleshooting steps, will try them. I'm guessing no voltage at pin 14 or 4 means bad cruise/wiper stalk on steering column?

No LED tails, just stocl

Could be assuming there is power at the 10A CRUISE fuse in the fuse box.

This is on the left side of your dash between your dashboard and door when it is closed. There is a door there. Pop it off.

Could license plate bulbs have an effect on cruise? It did quit working sometime around when I noticed a license plate lamp out and replaced those with LED

Went back over everything, check the cruise control fuse again, check the connectors at the cruise control module on the firewall. Sounds that my third brake light, the high center mount light, has 2 LEDs that are not working. Could that be the problem?

Not at all. That just means 2 of your LEDs burned out.

If you did all of the circuit checks and found nothing abnormal, it is your TAC module that is bad.

Just rechecked the circuit, both with the engine running and without the engine running but the ignition on. No voltage a pin 14 with the cruise switch on and no voltage at pin four when the SET button is pushed. cruise fuse has constantvoltage
