Well guys, I finally found the time to wrap up my personal project. My projects take a back seat to paying customers, lol. I fabbed this one using 3/16" material for the top and bottom, 1/4" material for the face and bevels. The revovery tabs were cut out of 1"x3" 1212 stress-proof rectangular bar. As for the lights, there are two Hella 500FF's recessed in the face, along with two Hella H71020051's. On the top of the bumper are 4 Hella 500FF's mounted to a accessory light bar I cut and bent out of 1/4" material. I coated the bumper using a new urethane spray (bed liner) that contains zinc and kevlar. I mixed it up pretty thick to give it a heavy texture to help give it an aggressive look. I was going to powder coat it, but couldn't decide on a color, and ultimately decided to go with the urethane coating. I think the black texture looks good, but it actually hides some of the angles.

Since this pic, I fabbed a plate to mount the license plate to (required by TX laws), and it bolts to the bumper using the fairlead roller mounts. After I install a winch, I will build a snap on mount to fit onto the rollers.

Let me know what you guys think about it,

sick sick sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love it, i need to get one soon, nice bro!!!!!

Let me know and I can hook you up. I always make a pattern when I build a new bumper. It would be pretty easy for me to knock out another one...

I like it... how much does it weigh?

Overall weight for it was 152 lbs, but that includes 1/4" material on the mounts, and the winch mount...not bad compared to some brand names that are all 3/16" material used for the shell. I could have made it taller, but wanted just enough room to stuff any winch in I wanted to.

Got any more pics? I'm not an off-roader (2wd and in the process of doing a 3/2 drop), but I like and appreciate the extra protection associated with a good bumper.

love it. any idea on what you'd charge?

Here is how the pricing on bumpers breaks down...

Base bumper (w recovery tabs & shackles)--$700
Stinger------------------------------------$100
Light Pockets (for recessed lights)----------$150/pr
Accessory light bar (hold 4 lights)-----------$100

So, In other words, the bumper as shown would run $1200. I can build them any way you would want using 1/8",3/16" or 1/4" material. It all depends on your weight/strength needs.

This pricing is pretty competitive by comparison...

Buckstop pricing

Base bumper------------------------------$1649
Stinger-----------------------------------$200
Light Pockets-----------------------------$125/pr
Accessory light bar------------------------$110

So a similar buckstop bumper---------------$2209

On the other hand, you have RoadArmor

Base bumper-------------------------------$1995
Stinger------------------------------------$190

Anywho...there are some numbers to play with...and I have been doing custom metal fabrication for years...

Oh yeah, your choice...I can powder coat them, or urethane coat them...your choice...only major differance is slightly longer turn around time for powder coated bumpers...
