Kirk, it's an experiment ... the worse thing that can happen is that you are correct on all accounts, in which case i'll take a hair drier to them and ditch 'em in the trash.

Two stainless steel or chrome strips are not going to break the bank ...

I dunno, I enjoy trying out new things ... that's how I learn. :Handshake:

I, personally, enjoy your trial and error method. It's NO stress on my end and we learn new info along the way :D

If THAT'S the case, then I'll be asking you to call my wife and tell her, since I'm usually not allowed to be right, and certainly not on all accounts. Haha!

Yeah, I enjoy your threads about things like this. It's really frightening, but we look at a lot of these cosmetic issues the same way. We really do. And, maybe if I had an Escalade in front of me with the same steps, I'd be hot to cover/change that piece, too.

You'd have had a heart attack by now, but I'm still driving around with a chrome front bow tie and my stock, gold rear bow tie. I need it to get warm enough that I can safely pull the gold off of it. In the meantime, I know it's there, looking not right. It's annoying... lol

The easiest thing to do is to take those boards off, ship them to me and let it be MY problem. I am close to you actually, so you could just meet up with me and give them to me. :mexsmoke:

Other than that, I would do the non brushed SS like you just mentioned. Will look almost the same as your chrome and be more durable, which is crucial for that area I would assume.
