Custom fiberglass speaker pods

I got prolly the hardest part of the install today and that would be running over 150ft of speaker wire. I ran 16ga. for the tweeters and 2 runs of 12ga. from the front doors cause there's a coaxial and a component speaker up front and just components in the rear doors.

For the curious, I took a couple pics of how i passed through the molex plugs. The front molex plugs were super easy just passed through a giant open molex and then the rear was a little harder and took a little more work. The rear molex had an actual plug on it so to get through it I dremeled out the sides so the wires could sneak past.

i have 6.5's in all door now but plan on doing dual 6.5's in every door or single 8 in everyday

This looks killer. I like the suede. Got another question. Did you use any dynamat or any sound deadener in the doors or do you find it unnecessary?

That guy has no speaker grills on his 6.5's. When you put a speaker grill on a 6.5" speaker it becomes 7.5" and they will hang over the edges on glassed grills like I'm doing.

Thanks dude. The system is about 80% done. Waiting on plexiglas for the amp rack. I did use sound deadening material. The door skins have deaden matting (rubber stuff w/foil in the middle) on them and the doors core also behind the plastic moisture things. And then I used audio deadening paint on the glassed speaker grills. I have soooo many sheets of that sound deadening stuff in my truck I've lost track of how much I have in it now lol

well dont use grills if you wanted dual 6.5's
im doing dual 6.5's in front and back and my mids are massive too, a big larger than avg 6.5's
little fabrication to the front much more to the rear doors.

No grills lol... that wouldn't look tacky and unfinished at all...

well seeing that i have 14k worth of speakers infront of me currently with out grills no it wouldnt look tacky at all.. maybe your taste just sucks...lol

Thinking the last touch to top off the system will be an iPad 3 in the dash. Gonna move the AC controls and deck down into the lower slots.
