I was thinking for cables, tools, tow straps, shovel... stuff like that. Maybe even drill a few cup holders into the top.

Just built this recently. Added the locking doors yesterday and still need to stain them. Top part is a drawer.

What are your dimensions on that drawer?! That's what I'm looking for, may have to modify if it won't fit behind 3rd row.

Ive seen them online somewhere made for law enforcement, some of them would be on rails and slide all the way out and have legs so it could be used as a work station..pretty cool

Not sure on exact dimensions. But I do not have third row seats in. I have that cabinet in the rear then a 12" alpine type X facing the front. I will get the dimensions later today.

I have built a box in the rear of my 2000 tahoe thats 9 inches deep 4 feet wide and 4 feet long atm i dont need and have never had third row seats so that box is all storage and works extremly well but im im going to redesign a new box that will have pull out drawers also i am eliminating my second row seats and building that in as well for more storage and usable as a bed if needed when traveling ill try n post up pics when i can of what i have now. nice thing about it is it does just look like regular floor back there no one knows its there unless i show them and wood is just fine to use all the overland expedition rigs use wood drawer systems and they hold up to offroad abuse so your fine with wood.

Check police equipment websites, we used to have a drawer in ours for weapons and other gear. You can get 1,2 or 3 stacked. They are steel with foam padding on the bottom of each drawer and they can be locked. Not sure if they come shallow enough to accommodate your 3rd row seat tho, worth checking...
