I have a 97 Tahoe just recently with 275K km have bought and with past owners report #4 and 5 have low compression..at idle rough..changed all ignition componets leads cap plugs.. how can I isolate weather HEADS need replacement or possible Piston Rings are the cause... I suspect Valves... stock original SPIDER injectors.. I have a box of New MPFI that I would love to change out at same time change new heads...should I get propane moded valves hard seats for future conversion ... need your thoughs..Please..Mr Ron.. Canada..You can download a scanner app (DashCommand and CarGauge Pro are decent ones) and, using a Bluetooth OBD adapter, can see the misfire counts, clear codes, etc.
Is the check engine light on right now? Was it cleared originally?
