So fox shocks screwed me again. A number of years ago I bought a set of shocks for an off-road jeep one of the shocks had the valve installed upside down and the shims in the wrong place. So a buddy of mine that worked for fox at the time helped me rebuild them and do it right. Fast forward to today, I decided to splurge for fox shocks on this truck and one of them either has a bad seal or was never charged with nitrogen from the factory.

So I said screw it and put it all back in the box, planning to just return them and go with bilsteins which is what I was originally planning to do. For now I’ll leave the mostly worn out Monroe reflects trucks on there, at least they have some nitrogen left in them.

Almost done with the rear brakes then it’s time to do fluids.

I love stories like these! Basically a one owner truck in the family since new for 50 or more years when you pass it on.
That’s the plan. It ain't going anywhere anytime soon.
How long and many miles did they last?
I put these in in 2014 about 70k miles ago. I remember them feeling decent at the beginning, but in about 30,000 miles they seem to get pretty soft and stayed that way till now.

Got the rear buttoned up.
All the fluids drained and refilled. Generally the fluids looked pretty decent considering the mileage. The oil was pretty black but that’s expected for being 20k old. Power steering, brake fluid, Diffs and tcase were over 200k and trans about 150k. They looked about as expected for the mileage.

Got it torqued on its own weight and loaded back on the trailer for the ride home. Next up, alignment, spark plugs and wires then a really good deep cleaning.
