In my old Audi A^ I got a ticket for 5% front tints, it was either remove the tint and show an officer to void it, or pay $150. So you're saying that wasn't even a legit ticket?

I think they were surprised that a cracker was driving my truck...an educated one at that. Didn't say shit about my glock next to the seat either.

In florida you can apply for a state sunscreening exemption! You get a Dr. to sign the application and submit it to the state with around $5 to $10 and your allowed to have your windows tinted as dark as you want!! My windows are 5% and my windshield is 35% with a 5% strip! :evillol: I've had mine exemption going on 4 years and I get stopped all the time for my tint but I have never got a window tint ticket....instead they break my balls and give me a $72 unsafe equipment ticket for my tinted taillights! :emotions122:

I would google search your states statutes....ie. "Your State" sunscreening exemption, before I would go pulling my tint off and replacing it with something I will not be happy with!

Here is the link for my fellow Floridians......:Handshake:
http://www.lupus.org/webmodules/web...cation for Sunscreening Medical Exemption.pdf

Here is the Florida Statute:

Chapter 316 STATE UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL
316.29545 Window sunscreening exclusions; medical exemption; certain law enforcement vehicles exempt.--

(1) The department shall issue medical exemption certificates to persons who are afflicted with Lupus or similar medical conditions which require a limited exposure to light, which certificates shall entitle the person to whom the certificate is issued to have sunscreening material on the windshield, side windows, and windows behind the driver which is in violation of the requirements of ss. 316.2951-316.2957. The department shall provide, by rule, for the form of the medical certificate authorized by this section. At a minimum, the medical exemption certificate shall include a vehicle description with the make, model, year, vehicle identification number, medical exemption decal number issued for the vehicle, and the name of the person or persons who are the registered owners of the vehicle. A medical exemption certificate shall be nontransferable and shall become null and void upon the sale or transfer of the vehicle identified on the certificate.

(2) The department shall exempt all law enforcement vehicles used in undercover or canine operations from the window sunscreening requirements of ss. 316.2951-316.2957.

(3) The department may charge a fee in an amount sufficient to defray the expenses of issuing a medical exemption certificate as described in subsection (1).

I had a cop once pull me over for my tint, and the way he "showed me" it was too dark was making me hold my license up to the glass, and if you couldn't read my name and address then it was "too dark", he couldn't so I just got a warning and he said "have that taken care of"... it all depends on the cop

I went a few years in Florida with limo over the factory, 5% on the front doors, and 30% over the whole windshield and no one ever messed with me. Here in Georgia they can slap you with a $1000 fine and/or a year in jail and at least in Cobb County they will nail you for tint whenever they can. They will get you even if you have out of state tags. So if any of ya'll are ever driving through keep those windows down.

I wish that was the method here, I'd argue with that all day. Here the highway cops have light meters and stick them things on the window and take a reading. I think MAX refused to roll down his window that way they couldn't put the light meter on, if I was alone I might have gone that route but hard to be a ***** with the wife and baby in the truck. I am slowly, very slowly, coming to terms with it. It has nothing to do with privacy as much as it looks like crap to have different colored windows. I am contemplating having the rest of the windows redone to match. My AC is sub-arctic since I put the e-fans in so I think I could live with lighter windows. I'd rather have my shit look uniform than have blacked out windows on part of my truck.... I think, still on the fence.

Grocery getter I say keep them like that, its not that bad to have them off colored like that (Mine are like that). The worst would be to make it all 35%!!
Plus like 85% of cars on the road today are like that to some degree!
