I was able to retain the bose amp and sub when I installed my aftermarket HU, double check your wiring and make sure everything is color matched. The first thing to check is your +/- for each speaker and go from there.

this might be a dumb question but you said you were able to retain yours. And i was just wondering if you plugged in your amplifer turn on wire because I wasnt able to find one that was communicating with that wire.

That might be your issue. I'd think your amp is getting the signal to turn on--thus no sound.

I'm certainly no expert on the wiring or interfaces, but if your radio uses the standard wire color codes there apparently should be a Blue/White wire to use to turn on the amp. Does your radio manufacturer include any instructions for installation?

Here's one interface that might be compatible.

^^ This is the module that I installed, and that is how I retained the factory amp + chime module. PAC RP5 GM11

Same on my '04 and to retain SWC (steering wheel controls). But we don't know what the OP's radio wiring looks like, or what provisions it has available.
