Dash cam

Has anyone installed a dash cam and hard wired it, if so how where can I get power for it with a clean install. Thanks

All you need to run is a 2 wire (like speaker cable if you dont have power/ground (Always fuse) by pilar up to top windshield and liner. You can tap by ignition harness. You can do 12v or Acc.

I did this as well. Removed the sun visor, down the pillar. Into the fuse box on its own fuse. I have 24 hour constant power now.

does having 24 hour power to your dashcam kill the battery at all or is it not drawing that much power?

If you wire it correctly, you won't have it on 24/7.

But a 12v accessory won't kill your battery. All my friends keep their garmins always on, I keep my streamlight always plugged on and the spare battery always plugged on, my dad keeps his radar detector and an ipod plugged in all the time. No issues even in the winter up here.
