I think I just lost the water pump. I heard a rattling noise while I was at a drive-through window and made a mental note to check it when I got home. When I got out of the truck, I saw coolant leaking. I checked the coolant temp and it was at 220. I think the rattling noise was the water pump letting loose. Add that to the list.

Check the weep hole at the bottom of the WP housing for wet and pressure test if you can. I would also recommend a new thermostat with whatever work you do and make sure the air flow is good across the condenser and radiator for heat dissipation.

Weep hole was fine. No leaks. Coolant only came out of radiator overflow. They replaced the waterpump, thermostat and serpentine belt. They also flushed the radiator. Everything looks good, now. Holding at 180.

They did hear a bit of a squeak from the u-joints. I'll have them done next.

- CD Player Delete

I added Sirius XM to the radio. The fun part was routing the antenna from the back of the vehicle. I came in through the vent and routed at the top of the glass line. I came down the a-pillar with the mic cable. While I was doing this, I removed the CD Player and installed a delete cubby.

I changed out the driver's outside door handle this weekend. That is fun! It took about 2 hours and involved taking the door completely apart. I'm going to do a bit more research and see if I could have done it just by removing the interior panel. There's one clip that would have made that not work... but if there's a way around that I surely want to know. It seems everyone will eventually need to do this (if they haven't already). These door handles are crap.

I also took the "opportunity" to replace my vents in the lower portion of the door/door jamb. I will say the driver's side being out made removing the inner door panel (with the window regulator) just a bit easier.

Another thing I had done last week was the u-joints on the drive-line. By the looks of what was removed, this was a VERY good decision.

Thanks to a lot of help from East302, I was able to figure out why my passenger door courtesy lamp wasn't working. Pulling the kick panels is not particularly fun. Pulling the pin from the connector, cleaning it up, reshaping it and re-crimping it was easier than pulling that panel off.

Looks like some interesting coloured corrosion at that connector. I use an electrical contact spray that is awesome at work. It dissolves, cleans, inhibits corrosion, and makes great electrical contact. See link below.

I bought new winter tires and had them put on a set of wheels I purchased a couple of years ago. I also had the brakes serviced. The fronts needed the rotors turned and new pads. The back were fine. That was a pleasant surprise.

Do you remember where you bought these Wheels from? I can't really make out the emblem in the middle, but I really like them, would love to know more about them.

I bought the wheels off of Craigslist. They are Silverado wheels off of a 2019 or 2018 (I can't remember which). I got the set for $250.


I've been doing a bit more. I changed out the headlights and driving lights. The headlights don't look as good in the picture, but I'd give overall fit and finish a B+ for them. They are Depo lights and I've never had a problem with this company in the past. The driving lights, OTH, were a pain. They look OK, but they aren't contoured like the factory housing was. Every turn of the screw made me think I was going to break something.

The battery cable was another fun one. I ended up with this terminal replacement part. I tried to find the whole harness, but just couldn't find it new. GM doesn't make it anymore. I wasn't happy with the previous owner's solution. I also spoke with M&H who are simply awesome folks to work with, but they were reluctant to do a terminal with an 8gauge and 10gauge wire in addition to the 4gauge starter lead. It was excellent speaking with them, however, and I learned alot.
