To get the emblems and side molding off a lot of people just use fishing line to get behind it. I have a "tool" I use that's essentially a plastic tool used for spackling. The main thing is something you can use to get behind the emblem or molding and not scratch the paint up. A heat gun or hair dryer also helps to heat up the adhesive behind the item and it'll come off a little easier.

You best and easiest bet to get the adhesive off is go to your local auto parts store and pick up a 3M eraser wheel. This wheel will attach to your drill and will get the adhesive off extremely quickly. Once you're done getting it off you'll want to go back and wash and wax the area(s) but it's pretty painless.

Overall, it's an extremely easy process and shouldn't take too long.

No, it's very soft and won't scratch a thing. The only thing you might run into with yours being a 99 is the paint behind what you're taking off might be a different shade compared to the rest of the vehicle due to 12 years of sun fading.

i did mine on a hot sunny day, pulled the moldings right off, then "rolled" the glue up and off of it with my thumbs. same with the badges.

used a small pick to pull one of the corners up. used goo gone on a few places where the glue wouldn't come off, couldn't find my 3M wheel.

if you use the wheel make sure you don't stay in one spot for very long, you CAN burn through the clear and base if you let it get hot enough. but they do work really well.

:word: that is a possibility and something to be mindful of. Never has happened to me, though.
