I posted this topic on the old forum and decided to re-post it here. I have taken the badges/ trim off one side with pretty unsuccessful results.

I tried to use my fingers and just rub the tape off with failed attempts. Two huge blisters and only one tape strip off with residue still on the paint. I tried goo-gone with some-what results, but not good. Even tried a little mineral spirits without results.

I used a 3m strip-off wheel and it burned the F out of my paint. I watched a whole bunch on videos, read the label and did everything they told me to do. Still a nice burn in my paint! I plan on re-painting soon so I’m not as mad as you’d think one would be after burning my paint.

I’m at wits end with this shit!!! Any help would be appreciated. One side is pretty much done, but small amounts of tape residue still exist.

let the goog gone sit for just a few minutes and just start rubbing. I used some old socks and a non scratch brillo pad. take alot of elbow grease but it will work out. then use some scratch out or whatever its called and it should be good to go. dont forget to wash and wax soon after.

I used the 3M Rubber Wheel on mine. Always works out the best. If you burnt your paint, probally held it on there to long.

I actually sold the exact 3M wheel to Denaliano on gmfullsize.

I just did mine. Used goo gone and some alcohol and a microfiber towel. I scratched my paint using a old credit card on my first one, so after that I put painters tape around the emblem before I started the other ones. There's still a little outline, so I'll get on it with the polish and the PC, plus I have to get out the scratches I made anyway.

Wow, that blows, sorry. I used a heat gun and the 3M stripe off wheel on mine and it was done within 2 hours. I would try using the 3M adhesive remover, spaz, posted earlier.

Where are you located? I wouldn't mind helping you out.

This is great information.

I thought I was holding the strip-off wheel on too long until I tested it by being very careful. It didn't matter if i hit it for a second or 3, still burned it.

I'm going to try some of the solutions suggested and get back with you.

The hoes at the tint shop getting some new, darker tint on her. All the work is getting me closer and closer to all black!!!!!. I need some black rims now. Whatcha think of these?
