I am not gonna get involved with telling someone to buy or not to buy. IMO though, it looks straight but that is just one pic. They said rough condition, meaning they likely lacked any kind of maintenance schedule and other systems besides just the engine may be wacko too. Tree service means he was likely in some hairy roads at times and may have frame problems too.

For $500, that's a deal IMO. Even if the frame is trashed, you could part it out and make your money back. If you got it and found you can't even part it out, the local salvage would pay you scrap metal prices and you'd recoup some of that $500. OR... You could spend a little more and fix it up and run it for many years or sell it.
