So new to the forum, I own a 2002 Tahoe that is a garage queen on account that I own 3 cars between the 2 of us. Anyway, the tahoe has about 17,800 mile on her in 11 years. I change the oil (and filter) every couple years myself but no other service has ever been performed. It runs good when I use it but I’m starting to think I really should take it into the dealer to have it serviced and the chassis lubed and stuff. What do you guys think? Also, what level of service should I have performed (i.e. minor, intermediate, or major)?

17k miles?!? Wow, das low!!

Our service drive would recommend a coolant flush, maybe a fuel filter.. And of course a tire rotation and oil change, if warranted (based on tire wear and such). Tranny fluid doesn't really break down, so you should be good there.. Maybe check the belts and hoses for dry rot, if you are being particular...

Oh, and replace those tires!!!

One important thing to remember is that some fluids and compounds break down even when not in use.

These include oils, rubber, etc.

I'd change tires, oil, coolant, fuel filter, throw some Stabil in the fuel...etc...

Never hurts to put some major service into every now and then, especially if it's sitting and not being driven much. I bet she looks good though!

I'd get the brake system flushed, 11 years on the original fluid probably means it's full of moisture, not good for the ABS system.

As others have mentioned the coolant should be changed as well.

I'd go for a brake fluid flush and a coolant flush for sure. It is recommended to replace tires after they're 7 years old, but if nothing else do inspect them for dryrot.
