I can understand why now people are moving away from American cars. I have been to the dealer (4) times and they have still yet to fix the original problems.

There has been a squeak under the hood that one of the pulleys needed replacing. The first two times they said they couldn't hear it and sent me home without it fixed. The next time they said it was the aircon belt and pulley which they replaced drove home still squeaking. The next time they said it was another pulley replaced still original squeak. It is the top idler pulley and has been the whole time.

Plus when really cold outside the passenger side blows freezing cold air. First time they relearned all the blender doors. Next day still blowing cold air, reprogrammed the doors again. Next day still the same. You actually have to shut off the car and turn it back on to get the air to blow warm. Then even during a long trip it will start blowing cold air again. Tried turing to auto, recirculate, and driver and passenger controlled temps. It has a mind of its own.

Going to another dealer next week and hope they are better at fixing problems. Grrrrr.......

That's not just American cars trust me. It's the idiots they employ at these places that are the issue here. I had some of the same problems with my Mazda. The only dealer I had any luck with that stuff with was my BMW. I think it's because they are used to people complaining about those issues to the point where they actually have to be knowledgeable enough to locate the issue.

Well the only American company I never had an issue with was Dodge I had they replaced everything without question. The mercedes, landrover, and mini cooper all needed lots of attention, but they were always fixed without question and I never had the same problem again.

I was hoping I wouldn't have the number of problems as with the other makes, but with all the trips to the dealer for the same issue not getting fixed makes it about the same to deal with, LOL

if it's newer contact a lemon law attorney.. make sure everytime you pick the truck up that the repair order says they located or observed/acknowledged there is a problem/condition. You will be compensated my friend, trust me.. Call the lawyer (if your vehicle falls within lemon law parameters.

I'm thinking it is not the pulley but either the pulley's mount or what drives the pulley (crank shaft). It isn't just American cars and it is actually hard to tell what is American these days or not.

Consider a lemon law and research what your state's rules are. GM bought back my first Envoy because it had an annoying radio squeel that varied with the engine rpm. It took them awhile to do it until GMC actually called me and asked me about the vehicle. One hour later I was on my way to getting a new Envoy, the one I wanted. Local dealer flew me up to the middle of WY to pick it up at his cost. I live about 5 hours away in Utah.
