Mine are starting to do the same thing. I bought it used, but have owned it for 2 years and Mother's chrome polish them all the time. Not happy about it.

I have the large extended warranty, i'm going to see if they will replace them when I go in for my next oil change.

Good luck guys, I've had friends that have had them replaced. Ever since this "environmentally friendly" chrome came out, this happens alot.

Those of you that have had them replaced, how bad were they? Did the dealer give you a hassel?

I attached some photos of whats happening on my wheels

This has been a common problem for years with GM rims. I worked at GMC dealership for 5 years and we were seeing this on the 03-07 body style truck and even on the 07+ body style trucks.

We warrentied a few sets and some GM just called normal wear and tear.

I remember doing a few warranty claims where we sent the rims out to be stripped and re-chromed and they came back looking 10x better than the stock ones. This was also much cheaper than replacing four wheels, $600-800 instead of $2000 in new rims.
They also seemed to last much longer. I belive this was due to the whole rim being chromed instead of just the front half/ face like the factory rims are.

I would make friends with your local dealership service manager and see what he can do for you. I'm sure he has dealt with this before. If you don't get anywhere start complaining to the dealership, then to GM and request to have the GM rep come down and look at your vehicle.

Good luck,
Nick

The dealer will replace them without hassle. When you bring them in clean the wheels so that they are spotless and DO NOT tell them that you used anything on them aside from soap and water ..... and that you never took the car through a carwash (trust me) they replaced all 4 of mine no questions asked. Hope you're still under warranty.

Well that will be easy to say, have never used any products on the wheels only washed them. Will contact the dealer and see what they will do, hopefully there wont be hassles, my family buys a lot of vehicles from them, on the second Denali right now.
