Has anyone removed the front license plate bracket? From googling it appears to be held on by rivets. Must these be drilled out? I plan to put back so don't want to destroy the rivets if possible.

Thanks in advance

If you want to save the security bolts?? You need to find out what that weird looking security bolt (head is) is?? I've jacked mine up (two of those bolts) they seem to be kinda soft .... aluminum maybe???

I'm gonna take a drill to them this weekend ... tired of looking at that thing.

Oh, they are security bolts. I suspected that but a GM site refers to them as bolts and rivets.

I drilled my out. I had the security bit, but the screws just stripped. Drilled out in a minute or two as they are aluminum and very easy to drill through.

Round hole in the bolt head with three tabs, seems to be made of aluminum.

No front plate but the bracket is still there. In NV the law requires a front plate but it's been mentioned when I was pulled over for other issues and on one occasion I was specifically targeted because of no front plate. Still no ticket ... if LE is not gonna bother write a ticket for no front plate ... then I'm not gonna bother have one. Your Results May Vary ... just saying. :)

Thanks. I'll drill them out but have to put the bracket back on, so I'll have to come up with a way to attach. I assume there will be 4 empty holes in the bumper once remember. Thanks again
