Denali vs Std Yukon Light Output

Hi All -

Long time lurker; new Yukon owner here. I just picked up an '03 SLT yesterday.

On my cold, dark drive in to the office this morning, I realized how spoiled I've been in regard to lighting - I've done a projector/HID swap on my '00 Camaro, My wife drives a '16 Enclave with HIDs, and I just turned in my 2014 Sierra, which had projector halogens.

My question is - is the halogen in the projector a very noticeable difference over the standard Yukon setup? I'm really considering picking up a pair and would jump at it if I knew it was a worthwhile upgrade. Seems like they are plug and play.

Best option is to get the "Denali style" depo headlights and do a retrofit. Pretty easy and cheap to do.

I saw a thread on here about retrofitting the depo headlights on here. Is it only the Depos that can be retrofit via the adapter plate in the rear, or can the OE housings as well?

I was thinking I'd pick up a pair of OE lights from a wrecked Denali, and if I am still not happy, then retrofit them. FWIW, I was completely happy with the halogen projectors in my '14 Sierra.

Replacing the low beams with high lumen output LEDs may be all you need for $40-50 online. Just throwing it out there.

I think it's just the depo's, but I'm not sure. Maybe ask in that thread?

Simple LED swap is all you need, UNLESS you really want to change the look and go with the depos. Got mine on E-bay, under $75 shipped for the 9005's and 9006's.

While that's much better than stock, it's not all that impressive...

My quad retrofit alone has more output than all your lights plus your lightbar...

I bought some aftermarket Denali projectors, and I like them a lot. (see this post for pictures and links to Amazon where I got them)
