Yup, that's almost identical to how mine looked. I went ahead and ordered 4 quarts of the AC Delco 10-4016 75W-90. Sounds like plenty of people are using this for both ends. I'll skip the friction modifier unless I start hearing chatter. New U-joints arrive tomorrow so I'll slap it all back together and see if my original issue is any better. If not, it's on to the front driveshaft/u-joints and diff. I need to check for broken motor mounts as well, but I haven't had any clunking.
