This has been done before but it's worth a revisit. As you all know, the PPV/SSV's do not come equipped with the Driver Information Console (DIC switch) at the drivers end of the center vent trim. However, the pig tail connector for the 4 button switch is still there and is tucked behind the panel. This is the set of buttons that let's you toggle through tire pressure, instant fuel economy, chime volume and a few other things. The readout is via the gauges where all there other vehicle info pops up. The switch itself is pretty cheap. You can find it through ebay for about 15 bucks. The option for mounting it is to either get a used center vent trim panel or Dremel out a hole in the end piece. I lucked out and found a broken vent trim section with the DIC switch for about 25 bucks. Problem was that it was wood tone and my SSV trim is flat gray so I will have to fix that later. The end section of the trim that contains the DIC switch is completely separate and only held on to the rest of the trim by two plastic rivets. These can be easily drilled out. Once they are removed, they don't have to be replaced as the ebay rest of the vent trim will fit snugly over it. The end piece has its own clip too so it will fit securely. The whole vent piece doesn't have to be removed to get this done. However, if you remove about half of it and bend the end back to get access to the back of the DIC panel, you could crack the thin section of trim between the AC vents. I so I would suggest removing the entire vent center piece entirely. It is really a pretty simple procedure that will instantly add more features to your PPV/SSV. All I left to do is color match the piece to the rest of the trim. I ordered some vinyl wrap samples off ebay so hopefully one will be a close match. Otherwise I will sand it down and paint.

I would use that woodgrain piece as a template and cut out the silver piece so that everything matches, I did mine with a little guess work with a Dremel, tool and it came out fine, I like woodgrain but unless you do everything in woodgrain don't bother putting your DIC into your Hoe. just my two cents.

That was my first instinct. Once I see how my vinyl wrap samples look against the rest of it I may go that route. Once I get it all done I will post more pics.
