Did the Denali ever come with heated wind shield wiper fluid?

Just curious if any of these trucks had that option and if so, where was the button located? I know GM had a campaign deleting this option since they blamed the units for catching vehicles on fire.

yes, it would be under your a/c controls on your dash...

If you press it, nothing happens (if the recall has been done)

'07 & '08 Denali had them, and as Nathanjax said, the dealers were required to remove them whether you wanted it deleted or not. Several friends who had them removed were able to go to the original manufacturer and get the updated parts to reinstall. But one friend's dealer removed that too thinking it was factory, and had to pay to have the aftermarket part put back in since they'd destroyed the part they'd removed per GM orders. But there's no retrofit kit for those of us with newer Denalis, at least that I'm aware of.

Is the newer unit worth the cost?

Yes it was for me on my Saturn Outlook. I had the dealer do the recall and with the money they paid me do remove it I bought a new one from the manufacturer. Unfortunately I don't have that button on my Denali. I do how ever have one extra heater wiper module :) I may just pull that panel apart to see if it's prewired. May get lucky but I doubt it.

We carry the Alphatherm units for folks that wanted it and had their stock units removed. I put it in my 07 after the recall. Its handy for getting dried/sticky crud off the windshield and for defrosting it quickly.

What is the typical cost of the retro? Just trying to figure if it's worth doing.

^^^It's like $100. When you get your old one removed they cut you a check for $100. Then the alphatherm unit cost the same. I did all this on my 08 tahoe.

Back when the recalls were going through I bought bunch of them and was re-installing them on recalled vehicles at $85 installed. I had one laying on the shelf that I found. The good news is that I have the heated button :) Had the new unit installed in 15 minutes and working as it should :)

Bought my '07 Yuk XL Denali this year, I was looking fwd to heated washer fluid this winter. After reading this post I went out and checked. Unit, fuse is removed, damn.

I bought the AlphaTherm replacement direct for $80 shipped. Not bad, looks like a 15 min install.
