Hi All

Looking to upgrade the stock rims on my 2010 Tahoe LT. Im thinking of going with either a 20" or 22" depending on what kind of deal I can get on a tire/wheel package. My main question is do I need to do any suspension upgrade prior to going with a larger wheel? And also will a 22" over a 20" effect the ride at all? I would like to avoid dropping $2k and not being happy with my selection because the truck rides like shit.

Thanks
Richie

Nope. I do it all the time. Summer mode is 22, and winter is 17. Just a heads up, if you lower with spindles, you're going to need to trim the lower ball joint studs

Actually since I put on my 22x9 wheels my ride and handling got way better coming from my factory 17's. No suspension upgrade necessary if you're planning on maintaining your factory ride height. Definitely enjoying the larger wheels, no regrets.

I bought my '09 LTZ with 20s on it. I would prefer 17s to have better off road capability. What are you folks doing with your take offs?

Makes no sense. A 20" can do anythin a 17" can do

Small difference can be the difference between a cut tire or broken rim and just moving along. I live on Douglas Lake and will be driving on the lake bottom in the winter when they drop the level by 52'. There are some rocks down there and the lip that forms at my back yard. Plus I could save a dollar on new Michelins.

speaking from expierience the difference in a 17 wheel and a 20 inch wheel is ride quality and i noticed that i was needing my alignment done more often with 20 inch rims
i drove around on a set of 20 inch wheels on my tahoe for about 3 years when i got rid of that and got my suburban wich still had 17inch wheels on it i totally noticed the difference
so much to the point ill never get anything bigger 18inch rims
