Differential & Transfer Case Fluid Change/Flush

Does it have auto on the 4wd or just 2h 4h and 4 lo. If auto it needs Auto-trak II if no auto I would put 5w- 30 motor oil in it.

How do I tell if I have the BW 4485-NR3 - Transfer Case which takes DEXRON(R)-III, GM P/N 12346143 or the NVG 246-NP8 - Transfer Case which takes Auto-Trak II, GM P/N 12378508?

New venture cases have a plate on the back would say "nvg 246"

Bringing back Old thread. Just to confirm, for a 4wd car, there is1 differential I test and 2 transfer cases?

Or...simply look at your build codes in glove box of your rig and in one of those m any codes displayed you will see NR3 or NR4 or whatever. Thats it!
