My 03 Escalade has 130k on the clock

When I hit bumpy patches, The steering wheel goes a bit wild with a lot of play.

Test drove a NNBS Tahoe and there was no play in the wheel on the same bumps.

So recently I replaced some stuff Pittman and Idler Arm, and both inner tie rod ends.

Today I was driving on a bumpy bridge and noticed between bumps when the shocks would compress the steering wheel would turn Left. Car didn't turn left just the steering wheel.

Is it time for Shocks or other stuff in there.

I am no suspension expert, but I do not think shocks are going to correct what might be "bump steer" in your case. I would take the truck to a reputable alignment guy that will take time to set everything up.
One thing to keep in mind, and this is an assumption, but you have an Escalade so the suspension is probably much softer than a Z71 and even a regular model. I think the more the suspension compresses the more bump steer you will feel.

Also comparing two different body styles is not apples to apples.

My 06 Denali has something not quit right in the front suspension, the front end feels a little looser than I would prefer. I have had two different friends (actual techs) who said everything is tight and I should keep an eye on it, and if something is worn or loose it will become noticeable over time. So for now, we just check the suspension during routine maintenance. I hardly put any miles on it though, as I have a work vehicle.

Good luck and report back if you find out what it is. Like I said, I am no one, just thinking out loud, my thoughts are worth what you paid for them; nothing.

if the wheel is turning but not the truck, you most likely need a new steering shaft which is a commin problem on these trucks. I belive gm even had a recall on them.

do you have any recall information for an 02 Yukon XL? I thought it was a recall, but the dealer said "no" and charged me ~$300. Thanks,
