I keep a tire plug kit, has saved me numerous times, if the puncture can't be fixed with a plug, then sealant won't help either, and the tire is too damaged to be driven on, at that point use the spare/go get a new tire put on your rim.

They've been having problems in certain metro areas with people just stopping in the middle of the freeway when they get a flat, because they don't want to damage their expensive rims.

funny thing....2 days ago had a inside sidewall puncture (must have hit something in the road, didnt see anything) before i knew it the tire was flat and tore half way around the outside sidewall. now i have the funky stock spare (17") and have to get a new (20'')...long story short......FIX-A-FLAT just to get off the road to get it fixed. most rim shops will give your rim a dunk if you tell them you have that stuff inside.. well they do here in AZ.
