This damn thing was rattling for a while but could never find it. Then, it fell off. Any idea what it is? It came off of a 1996 Yukon and sounded like it was in the front of the vehicle if that helps.

Holy cow.. That's exactly what it looks like. I'd be hesitant to move it another inch until I found out for sure!
How did you find it? Just fall off randomly in your driveway? Where under your vehicle was it?

Good call. Thanks guys. The idiot that replaced my fuel pump apparently loosened the leaf spring U-bolt nuts and didn't properly tighten them. I'm missing one off each which allowed this to come loose. Sigh.

No idea but it's on that side and they're the only people to work on this truck in the last year. Thanks again for the help.

I just wanted to take a moment and thank everyone again. I went back to the shop and they admitted loosening the ubolts when working on the fuel pump. Seems they had trouble getting the tank back in. They installed a new set of ubolts, refunded the labor charge from the original work and will be checking the torque on the new ubolts in a week or so just to make sure all is well.

They may have screwed up but they're taking responsibility and have always been a good shop.

Thanks again.
