I have a 22 Tahoe Z71 that is loaded. In the infotainment system it shows the ability to add cameras to a trailer however I don't have camera inputs at the rear. I'm wondering if I could get my hands on the parts/cables if this could be plug and play since the head unit indicates they can be added. Not trying to steal your thread but if it could work for me maybe it could work for you as well.
I suspect the lack of availability is due to an IC required to process video from multiple cameras to create the invisible trailer view although it is possible it's due to lack of trailer camera availability or something equally minor. It would be greatly appreciated if you could look under your Tahoe for loose video connectors near the 7 pin trailer connector. I expect they would be miniature coaxial cable with FAKRA connectors.

I've given up on getting a Yukon with ZM1. I current have my salesman looking for an AT4 with max tow, air ride, eLSD, captain's seats and without rear seat entertainment. My plan is to retrofit the rear camera mirror and a custom switch module to select trailer cameras to be displayed in the mirror. It's additional work I don't really want to do but I'm confident I can make it work and IMO the mirror display is preferred over the in-dash display.

Not sure if you completely gave up on the ZM1 route, but it looks like the option is back - https://gmauthority.com/blog/2023/0...burban-enhanced-trailer-view-feature-is-back/

Thanks! It doesn't help me but likely will help someone else. I found an AT4 with almost all the options I wanted at a dealership out of town and had my local dealer bring it in for me a couple weeks ago. Overall I'm very happy with the truck. As delivered for now but camera mirror and other mods planned as I have time.

I’m in the same boat as you and hoping It’s as simple as a few parts and done. Has anyone looked for open ends? I have yet to crawl under mine to look myself.

Based on my research, the ZM1 option is the only way to get the trailer camera inputs in the SUVs. I suspect the ZM1 option includes an additional or more powerful video processor to create the invisible trailer view. That's the only scenario where the option being on constraint for so long makes any sense.

My planned work around is adding a rear camera mirror and an electronic selector switch but I've only investigated deep enough to convince myself it should work and purchase a Yukon without ZM1.

In the same boat as many of you guys. I have JL1, NHT, PZ8, ZL6 and Z82, basically everything that I thought I needed for my 22 Burb to be a plug and play for trailer cameras, but I guess not ZM1. My trailering dash app wants to connect to cameras, but I lack the harness from the dash to the hitch, where the 2 optical inputs are above the 7 pin light connector. Dear GM, please create and sell this harness! Otherwise, as above, my A/V shop said they can run a camera to the dash for me, but I have to toggle between trailer camera and other infotainment functionality. Would love any help...

ZM1 gives you two trailer camera input jacks just above the 7-way. Without that option you won’t have those inputs and can’t use this camera.
Good afternoon. Can you please tell me what these two additional connectors of the ZM1 option look like?
