Our Husky mix passed away last year, but we added a new boy to the home about a month ago...
Pound rescue, German Shorthaired Pointer mixed with something bigger (perhaps Great Dane).
He's our 73 lb. 1 year and 2 month old boy...
For scale...
He likes the Yukon, of course... Heh...
Settling in okay, but was reportedly crated 10+ hours a day by original owners...
We have some training work to do, but he's willing and already 100% better than the first week. Also getting some pro training help from a trainer who's family has been training dogs for a living since the 1950s.
Not going to figure it all out the hard way like we did with the Husky 14 years ago. (We had the Husky mix 13 years, and she was 16 when she passed away.)
That is awesome you rescued him. My moms two youngest dogs are rescues as well and with some patience and lots of training they will come around. The smallest of the 3 and youngest ran from me the first year she lived with her but at the same time hunter the middle one loved me from day one and he was abused and left out on the street.
