Pretty dog. All three of mine were rescued in the last year. One I got as a puppy, the other two are 9 and 4 years old. You see a lot of hounds from high kill shelters shipped here from WV and Southern Va. They said if a dog isn't a good hunter or doesn't want to hunt anymore they get dumped at the shelter or are abandoned on the side of the road. My oldest one was 8 when we got him. Poor guy was missing most of his teeth, a couple of claws and his ears had been clipped by the owner for identification. He was also going through heart worm treatment and coughing up blood when we adopted him. I'd love to have a Rhodesian Ridgeback or Rottweiler mix, but 3 is my limit right now.

Im good on 1 lol, shes almost 4 but still acts 100% like a puppy, luckily she didn't have any medical issues when we got her, Im from Ohio and I know our shelters are packed, Most the time they are not even accepting animals. An old lady way out in the country basically flagged my sister down and gave her a box of puppies, I ended up with one and we did everything we could do to find the others homes.

My old neighbor has a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Doberman mix named Rocco. I loved that dog. Awesome dog and big as a freakin house! He thinks he's a 120 lb lap dog! They moved last year and my dog still looks for Rocco.

I grew up with a Ridgeback/Lab mix. He had the ridge, which is unusual when it's a mix. They are an awesome family dog and very protective of their pack.
