Dome light in rear hatch

So I did this mod to our old 06 Tahoe and loved it. It helped out a ton when loading groceries and what not in a darker parking lot. I finally acquired a newer dome light for our 08 Tahoe. I had to paint it black since the headliner is tan-ish and so was the light. In a nut shell I cut a hole in the panel, extended the wire and ran it through the hatch boot to the rear dome light and tapped into it. For once I actually slowed down and took pics of the install.

Yeah I used leds throughout the Tahoe

Very nice. I need to do something like this on my '00 Yukon XL.
Do the map light buttons still work?

I did the same but with eagle eye leds. They're very bright but I always like the idea if it's possible to have an easy way to change out bulbs in case one goes out.
